the 12th International Conference on High Temperature Capillarity (HTC 2026),(in Cologne, Germany)

We are pleased to share that Kento Nakanishi, a PhD candidate in our research group, delivered an oral presentation at the 12th International Conference on High Temperature Capillarity (HTC 2026). The conference was held in Cologne, Germany, from May 4 to 7, 2026, and is one of the leading international conferences in the field of high-temperature materials science.

Presentation information:

  • Kento Nakanishi, Takehiro Sumita, and Noritaka SAITO ”Effect of Interfacial Properties on Viscoelastic Property of High-Temperature Multi-Phase Fluid

In this study, we investigated how interfacial properties, such as surface tension and wettability at solid–liquid interfaces, influence the viscoelastic behavior of high-temperature multi-phase fluids. By combining in-situ high-temperature oscillatory rheology with microstructural analysis, we obtained new insights into deformation mechanisms that are relevant to blast furnaces, liquid-phase sintering, and other high-temperature metallurgical processes.

Presenting this work at a major international conference represents an important milestone for our research group and highlights the dedication and scientific growth of our doctoral students.

👏 Congratulations to Kento on his excellent presentation!
Due to unexpected flight issues, the supervisor was unable to attend the conference in person. Nevertheless, Kento confidently delivered the presentation on his own and engaged in lively discussions with leading researchers in the field. His scientific confidence and maturity were truly impressive.
